First ground temperature record in the hottest spot on Earth

Location: Lut Desert World Heritage Site - Rig Yalan, Nehbandan, South Khorasan

Lut Desert World Heritage Site, International Desert Research Center, Tehran University, Institute of Geography, Tehran University, Khatam Al-Anbiya (PBUH) University of Technology, Behbahan, Urmia University, Safari Committee in the Field of Automobile Racing of South Khorasan Tourism and Automobile Center, General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of South Khorasan Province, General Directorate of Meteorology of South Khorasan, and Gol Gohar Mining and Industrial Company of Sirjan.

Various researchers from NASA and international scientific centers have recorded surface temperatures of more than 80 degrees in the Lut Desert using satellite images, but no ground measurements have been made on a 24-hour basis so far. In this event, the surface temperature of the Lut Desert, as the hottest spot on Earth, was measured on a 24-hour basis. Until now, all claims in the country regarding the hottest spot on earth have been based on satellite data, but today it can be claimed that after this important event, the hottest spot in the Lut Desert with a temperature of 73 degrees is located in Rig Yalan, Dehsalam village, Nehbandan border county.

It is necessary to explain that Dr. Hamidreza Naseri, as the head of the group, and Dr. Ali Taya from the International Desert Research Center of the University of Tehran, participated in this event.
